Hi

I am new to this whole milsurp world and I am looking for an original military stock for it. Mine has been sporterized. Mine is a 1929 Lithgow Mk3 SMLE. So if anyone has a line on an original set of furniture for this that would be awesome.

Try posting a WTB (want to buy) add in our Equipment Exchange. You'll need to apply for access, might take a day. You can also check out all the for sale adds, you might just find what you're looking for. Numrich also ships wood for these guns out of the states, check out their site for availability.
And while your at it, have a look for the Lee Enfield knowledge section in the stickies at the start of the milsurp section. There's a bit of work in fitting the woodwork properly on these girls, you can figure out what other metal bits you'll need at the same time.
Also not a bad idea to check your barrel length to make sure it hasn't been chopped, a good few Enfields were cut and re crowned when they were converted. Good luck! :)

Finding parts for the No1Mk3 is getting a bit more challenging as the years go by. You would likely need to buy from a few sources to get everything. A few places:

Numrich Gun Parts
Sarco Inc
Liberty Tree Collectors
Ebay (although I'm less a fan of that one)

Original Aussie issue stocks will cost a fortune. If you can find one.
As with any Lee-Enfield, check the headspace before you spend any money, even if the S/N's match. Thousand of 'em were assembled out of parts bins with zero QC. Plus measure the barrel length to be sure bubba didn't get at that too.
Buying or selling anything on E-Bay gives money to the people who want to take your firearms away from you.

Speaking of assembly from bits and pieces, I've seen a photo of a Canadian armourers field station in WWI. It looks pretty ramshackle. I can't seem to find it now. I can't imagine they were too concerned about proper numbering. They just wanted to get the rifles fighting again.
