MkI Long Lee Enfield Barrel length?

Just bought a budda'd 1896 MkI Long Lee at a sale last weekend, (couldn't go wrong only $100) What is the barrel length sapposed to be? I figure its been cut down, as it is about an inch shorter then my SMLE. Are full length barrels still kicking around for these rifles for a full restoration? Should I have it cut shorter and make and LEC clone? Was there another rifle inbetween the LEC and the Long rifle in that time? Is there somthing different I could do with it that would be different or neet? would like to do something with it, as I can;t make it much worse then it already is. Thanks for any constructive imputs.
 
Issue barrel length for the (Long) Rifle was 30.2 inches.

As far as I know, there are no spare barrels lying about and looking for homes; if there were, I would have grabbed at least a couple! If you surf the various fora, especially the British ones, you MIGHT come across something.... but don't hold your breath. Always remember that Bubba was here long before either of us.

A point to remember is that all "Bubbas" aren't Bubba's work; some are the work of various shops and 'smiths in the Trade and thus are interesting/valuable in their own right. As an example, I picked up a totally-Bubba'd LE a number of years ago..... turned out it was the 19th .303 converted by A.G. Parker, the founder of Parker-Hale!

I would suggest you post some nice pics here before losing heart.... or starting on a project.
