Hey guys. I'd been looking for one of these for a while and hadn't turned up much when I came across this one on ebay. I hadn't been able to find much on them and hadn't really asked around about them, but when this one turned up I decided to take the chance.

It appears to be repainted unless they did them in different colors? I can't find a maker or date stamp on the shell, but with the textured paint I bet it would have been filled. Liner is marked V.M.C. 1945. Late war or maybe post war replacement? Its C^ marked and marked with number 107.

I wound up buying a second one from the fellow a week later, it has the original tan colored paint, netting and a Canadian marked 1945 liner as well. I can't wait to see that one up close, I had to have it too.

How did I do helmet guys?

You did okay I guess for a repainted Mk III and a larger sized helmet liner. How much did it cost? Hopefully the post war paint was reflected in the price? Original Mk III helmets were painted a khaki brown colour inside and out. The adjustable end of original wartime chin straps had a metal end. If your chinstrap has no metal end it is post war. As with anything, original paint increases the value of the helmet. Mainly because most were repainted OD green or bronze green by the British army after the war. Mk III helmets surplused by the Irish government were painted a grey grey-green colour.

heres the pics i have of the other one. It should be here in a few days, I'll post detailed pics then.

Again no metal clip on the chinstrap. Original paint though?

Funny thing about the large size liner in the other one, 7 3/4 is actually my hat size.
