MLAIC World -Short range- Championship 2022 in Germany

MLAIC World (Short range) Championship 2022 in Pforzheim, Germany. There are roughly 330 competitors from 22 nations. Most world championships have over 500 shooters.

The Worlds consist of precision rifle and handgun events, and two trap events.
Shooters compete against each other with antiques or reproduction firearms (matchlock, flintlock or percussion depending on the event ).

Over the next few days I’ll post photos when not competing. Canadian team is smaller than I would like at 6.

Congratulations to Sandy Scott for his 2nd place in the Vetterli original rifle event (percussion rifle off hand at 50m) with a score of 97/100.

FYI to readers, I am also on the Canadian Team and shoot Vetterli in the Reproduction Class. My friend took Gold at the Canadian Nationals earlier this year!
We are looking for more interested Black Powder Shooters to join the team! Feel free to contact Brian or myself if interested!

From the first photo... The guy in the middle, performing equipment check, with the hat and the scowl is Sandy who just took second place in the Vetterli (Original) match. That's not second in Canada, that's second in the WORLD.

Congratulations, Sandy, for such a hard-earned and well-deserved result.

I'm living vicariously through our small Canadian team, wishing I could be there with them but circumstances have kept me at home.

Looking forward to some more excellent results from our Canadian team!

Its interesting shooting muzzle loading firearms on electronic targets - neat though. A first for me sorry about the photos. Clearly I can shoot Marginally better than I upload photos

I have a reproduction matchlock pistol, but need to learn how to shoot it. Sadly, it’s hard to find people in Canada to teach someone on how to shoot a matchlock safely.
