I am so happy now. Reunited with Polish M44 that I've stupidly sold a year ago. Condition is amazing, previous owner only fired 4 rounds, chickened out by recoil (by his own words) :). Just want it to share. Cheers.

Very nice! Spasibo! (I hope that is appropriate, whatever it means)

I still need one of these in my little collection, every now and then I have an opportunity to buy, but someone has proudly removed the bayonet!:slap:

I too am recoil shy, but will bravely shoot a few with a butt pad.

Indeed. This is one is not going anywhere. I will also prefer SOVIET one, but it is very difficult to find one in mint condition. Polish one was actually made on Soviet equipment in Poland but you probably know that already. This one was a steal - 350 $ :)

Hopefully you learned your lesson. Don't sell something you enjoy. The Polish is nice but I prefer my Russian 44.

Glad to see you got the fireball cannon back...now, try to keep it! I wish I had one, but will spend on other projects before I get another Mosin...

Even the long ones kick inhumanely; that's what makes them fun!!

I remember I was in Lebarons many years ago and as I was walking by the cash register I saw some guy holding a rifle and I said what's that ? and he told me it was made in Poland and that it was brand new . $75 dollars . and they had a whole bunch of them . I just laughed and said what made in Poland I'm not going to buy one of those . but back then you could take almost anything you owned and shoot it anywhere you wanted. if only I knew . I would have bought 10 or more of them .

no comparison in quality, fit and finish... the Polish M44 is much nicer. If you're recoil shy, buy a recoil pad that flops over your shoulder.

Sure was a steal. Last March at my local gun show I saw a Polish M44 but it was around $900-$1000.
