mod 617
I recently purchased a mod 617 S&W 6 shot 22lr
Lovely pistol. I was going to rebarrel it out of the prohib classification but i turns out it has a 105mm barrel on it already. It is registered as having a 102mm bbl. Time for a trip to a verifier and to go through the hoops. Very pleasant surprise.
My reason for this post is I want to know when the pistol was made. No reference seems to be available online. They want to sell a reference book for $25us.
The serial is BESxx94
I suspect 1994 is the year it was manufactured?
I would appreciate any verifiable info
