Mod 94 firing from half ####

I had a friend ask me yesterday why his Mod 94 in 32spl would fire from half #### position? It did not discharge, but made a decent primer dent.

I have never had one apart, hoping someone can guide me as to what can go wrong. I have not looked at it yet, is this likely just a gummed up notch? Other things that can cause this?

Worn half #### notch, reprofile by someone who knows what they are about.

Try a good cleaning. If it is not dirty, take it to a gunsmith or replace the worn parts yourself. There is not much to a model 94 and you can find disassembly instructions fairly easily online.

If the rifle has been dropped, sometimes the half #### notch has been known to shear. either way disassemble and investigate
