modded ruger 10/22 at 100 yards

whats your best group? just wondering if im on par with everyone else or should i expect better or can get better with a differnt setup. i can put 10/10 rounds of federal bulk into a loonie at 100 yards so far. my rifle hates the expensive match ammo, cant figure that out.

Sounds like your doing OK for accuracy. I have a Ruger 10/22 SS target that give me a average group of about 1.5" to 1.75 " at 100 meters using American Eagle 38 gr hp's (part # AE22). Mine hasen't shown any better accuracy using the more expensive ammo either. My only dissappointment is the AE ammo has gone from $15.00 per 400 round brick this spring to $21.00 last week at my local stores. My only aftermarket additions are a bolt buffer,ext mag release, bolt release and a VQ stabilizing module (looks like a muzzle brake). The module reduced my groups by about a 1/2 inch.

Mine likes Eley Target Rifle and Winchester Wildcats. I ran 14 different kinds of ammo before I figured that out.

So far I can put 10 rounds through a dime at 50 yards. Havent had the chance to take it out to 100 yards.

Only thing stock is the firing pin, receiver and bolt.

All things considered, loonie size groups at a 100 yards are very,very decent. Wind is your biggest enemy.

Mine gets a consistent ~1" at 50 yards with Winchester "333" bulk ammo

Not bad considering all I've done is added a cheap ($30) scope, a bipod i had lying around, floated the barrel (action isn't bedded) and smoothed out some of the trigger. ... oh, and I painted the stock

i guess i should get her bedded and try for even better. i can never seem to find a good day without wind to shoot, so im shootin usualy 3-15 kph winds.

its got a 9x scope on her now, i found the famous reciver hump on her so i went with a barrel scope mount.
