modding a 1022 stock to fit 22mag

I have a 1022 mag on its way there just not alot of stocks available i was wondering how hard it would be to to inlet a regular 1022 stock to fit

I have done one for my 22mag. It is going to take some time and have a good die grinder as you will need it. The front bolt hole will not match the original bolt and will have to drill a new hole. The rear of the action will be grounded out toward the bolts that hold the folding stock in. When I did mine there was a lot of time spent on filling and fitting to make it work and it turned out better than I thought, and I used a little acruglass to fill in the areas and to tighten things up. Need any questions, give a pm.

I put a hogue on mine to accomodate a .920 barrel. Everything needs to be inletted forward, towards the muzzle. Needs to be approx. 3/8". I can't think that it would be that hard to do. The hogue is exactly the same as the regular 10/22, just inletted forward more, and the hole for the bolt that mounts the stock actually looks filled then redrilled. Did you buy the one off the EE with the .17hmr barrel?

yah i bought the one in ee and would like to put back on factory barrel . i know mystic player has some shilen 22 mag bull barrels but i hate the added weight i might just buy a grey lam stock and inlet it and use the factory barrel

There is also some good directions over on Rimfire Central. A fellow named Ole Man River has done this countless times and is very approachable.
