i got a mod 11 savage bolt action 223 with a scope it is a top feed, does anyone have the same one ??? what are your likes and dis likes ??? mine is very accurate , but the only thing is it is a pain to put the shells in through the top with the scope there had i known that i would not have bought this gun . im very disappointed in it but im stuck with it now ...... hound13

You're never stuck with a gun. You can always trade it on down the line and put it for sale on the EE.
I own almost exclusively top load bolt actions. Either blind mag or floorplate. The odd detachable magazine has crossed my path, but at this point in time I don't even own one. May I ask more detail on your problem? I've never had an issue loading from the top with a scope.

i have big fingers and have a hard time to put the shell in and seat it too the back of the magazine other than that i like the gun i guess thats why theres a front site on it you dont need the scope. but i cant use open sites i got a hard time to see them any more!!!! hound13

I have a model 12 internal mag and it can be a pita to load at times if the rounds get stuck on top between the mag lips and receiver because of how small the cases are. I definatly prefer detachable mags over internal.
You can always look at changing the Scope and mounting system. Might have to go to taller rings to give you the extra room you need. The other option is to sell the rifle and buy something that will work better for you.
