Well I am well on my way to filling the cabinet with the timeless model 12 Winchester.I recieved an old ad from my son showing the 5 models that were for sale in 1956 and I now have four.1948 trap ,1955 standard field, 1959 heavy duck and the recent pigeon grade trap.I'm glad that the ad only had 5 ,now trying to find that skeet will be a challenge I'm sure. They are all in great shape and 2 I picked up right here on the Nutz, one with the solid rib which was my first duck gun.Like my new semi's and there are some great o/u but the old pumps still have a soft spot..:):)

Yah the model 12's are great, soon you will have an hankering for a Win 97 and Win model 42! Then you know you are a true addict! Goodluck on the fine collection! I have a 1940 trap a 1920 model 12 20ga black diamond ,a 1955 model 97 field grade and finally a 1932 model 42 field grade. The thing about model 12's and there lot, is that ther are tonnes of varations and you can buy from $200 on up!Dale Z in T-Bay! One gun I shouldn't have sold was a Simmons custom model 12 in 20ga Skeet#2, greatest grouse gun I ever had!

I feel your pain. I have a thing for the solid rib guns, shooters only. Had a 16ga with 2 barrels numbers matching, made some $$ on it but wish I still had it...

I've owned 3, plus a Model 42.

All pre 60's... Trap, a Skeet & a 20 Skeet. Loved 'em all. :D

Switched over mostly to O/U's & SxS's about a decade ago, with an 870 reserved for waterfowl the only pump shotgun in the rack.

Wow think I have found the best of the best ,buddy's Grandfather has offered me his model 42 .410 excellent shape but he doesn't know what he should charge for it ,my ethics are getting in the way ,he wants it to go to a good home ,he doesn't need the money but I will have to live with myself afterwards :rolleyes:

Fairest is to ask him what he'd take. Then negotiate from there. Unless he's off his rocker and says "a hundred bucks " (in which case you should just PM me and I'll give you $50 to handle the transaction for me :D) he'll give you a fair price and you will both be happy.

28 ga. In the EE, Me no bucks to buy:(

Can feel the pain:

Lost me my shotgun, a mint 12ga, early 50's, T.D., 28" mod., Simmons 2 bead vent rib, and also fitted with a complete 19", rifle sighted front end ..... gone .... in a somewhat less than pleasant divorce settlement.

Didn't take all that long 'afor the '12 was being missed a whole bunch more than the EX, and thats a fact. A man gets attached to fine quality, so he does.

42

Well situation solved ,the old guy did some research found out that it was a fairly rare piece so hes going to leave it to his grandson who is 2, hope he doesn't trade it for playstation when he gets older:rolleyes::rolleyes:
