I know I am not alone and that there are many Model 12 enthusiasts out there and why not? There is a reason they were dubbed "The Perfect Repeater". So lets show off our Model 12's both past and present......I'll start it off.
First up is a "Y" Model I purchased recently from a fellow CGN'r.......A Deluxe Field with free floating duck bill rib on a 30" full choke barrel......serial # dates this one to 1976 mfg.

This is one I customized from a plain field grade and sold to a fellow CGN'r a couple years ago. Killed a pile of waterfowl with this one. It started life as a 1932 Nickel Steel model, plain barrel, corn cob forend, plain uncheckered stock. I was given a Monte Carlo stock from a Y series trap model along with a herters trap styled forend with the gun when I purchased it. I threw out all the wood execept the Monte Carlo which I had Steve Holborn take the hump out of the stock and cut to fit me. Added a Pachmyr recoil pad, I was given a beautiful piece of black walnut which Steve made a trap style forend from and checkered it in the classic three diamonds pattern. The stock and forend were then finished in a hand rubbed oil finish, I spent a year on that, lol!! A simmons rib had already been added by a former owner but it needed some modifying from an incorrect install, Steve to the rescue again. The barrel was cut back to 28" at some point and had no choke so I sent the gun to Briley in Texas and had series 2 chokes installed. I got 5 chokes with it, 3 for lead (XF. IM and SK2) and two for steel (titanium VX series, 1F and 1 IC). I tried to make it look like a Deluxe Field Model. I shot it from 1992 when the work was completed until I sold it in 2010 or 2011?
This was the first season with it and my new pup!

I can't seem to find the pictures of the Ducks Unlimited 20 gauge I owned at one time or the Y Model Trap I purchased from a good friend that he purchased new in 1973, fired 350 rounds through and then got busy with family and never took it out of the safe agin until 2011! It was as NIB as they come pretty much but unfortunately the comb was too high for me and I could not bring myself to mod the gun so I sold it to a fellow on CGN in B.C.
