So Yesterday our club hosted an original model 12 Winchester shoot.25 singles 25 handicap and 26 doubles all to be shot with an original model 12 winchester. It was amazing what showed up and a tribute to the Winchester name as I have never seen personally that many Model 12's in one place. The shoot was a pretty big success and it was worth the price of admission to watch some dedicated trap shooters trying to pump at doubles with a 24/26 winning it. So a great day and an eye opener for several of our younger shooters who had the chance to shoot guns the same age or older than their grandfathers and they work just as well as their B guns .My old 62 trap never let me down and managed to run the singles and then win the shoot off and that's the first time its been shot since 2018.Great day.

Yes I started around then myself it was a deja vu afternoon.I am sorry about the pics never had my phone so did not really think of it .I shot the 62 at meat shoots for the the rest of the day as well that was a trip down memory lane. There was mention of a Remington 1100 shoot but I don't think we have enough parts to keep them running for the whole day .:)

Spank be careful of that statement you may give someone a heart attack but I don't think he is active on here anymore.

Hahaha! PURE GOLD!! Yes not much could fire him up as much as referring to his beloved 1100's as LEMON HUNDREDS! :p

I haven't seen him post for some time? Anyone know if 3Macs1 is still kicking?

Last time I talked to him he just lost his green houses to the hurricane that swept through Nova Scotia earlier this year . He wasn't to happy I haven't been able to raise him since. Salty old bugger for sure but once you got through the crust he wasn't so bad .

What a great idea for a themed shoot! And congratulations on your personal success, maybe time to go retro for awhile? My current guns don’t respond well to attempts at pumping them but I would surely have loved to attend this shoot.

I see he posted a bunch of NIB 870 barrels for sale a few werks ago. Looks like he may be thinning the herd. :(

That is not like him. Never liked to sell guns or parts and was always stingy on selling components. I hope the old bugger is OK ? Nice score on the M12 Spank I have the same gun it is my go straight gun when my Berettas let me down.

Well the Ridgedales club annual model 12 only shoot is happening this weekend and hoping that the weather gives us a break. There is an additional wrinkle this year for us SXS lovers they have a SXS only doubles round with high score winning the pot. Now which one to use seems to be the universal problem but I'm thinking the Malin will get to see the light of day and shown off to the discerning crowd .):

Back to the OP.

Do you gentlemen ever hold a SxS clay shoot?

Just Asking.

We all know there is some nice stuff sitting around in B.C.

I know this a competitive shooting site on CGN, but if we can get more people out to the range..WTH.

Best wishes.

The shoot has come and gone apologies for not posting something but was out of town. Model 12 was a great shoot with the results being a "high" overall combo of the three different events singles doubles and handicap. The winner was out of 80 (25x25x30) and 68 won it .The SXS doubles was also out of 30 and won (22)by a relatively young and new shooter which was great to see.40+ shooters there good turnout was a great Day.

Model 12 shoot was yesterday with another wrinkle you could use an 870 Remington this year as well. Lord somehow I managed to hit more than the others and won the event this year ,Must have flinched into a couple ,the Malin was given a good workout as well in the SXS event which I did not win but was pretty happy with my score. Shooting doubles with a pump gun is always fun, watching 25 guys trying to do it is even better:)

We had somewhat same issue but opening it up to 870 helped and also having a few guys with multiples.
