Picked up a Winchester Model 12 at the Lachute Qc gun show this past weekend. My lack of patience and computer literacy prevent posting pics, but here goes......
The gun is a well worn Model 12 12 gauge with 20" barrel, with no rib, and bead front sight. When I google model 12 riot gun I find many that look like this one. The top of the barrel indicates full choke- this is where I start to scratch my head. Did Winchester ever produce the Model 12 with a short barrel and full choke? The serial # 688### puts date of manufacture around 1935-36. The gun has no unusual markings like police/ military/ security etc. Also there is no heat shield or sling swivels. I suspect that 6 to 10 inches have been Bubba'd off the barrel sometime in the last 80 years. Any Winchester shotgun gurus that can shed some light on this one?
