hey guys i just got this rifle today at an auction its in very good++ condition bore in very bright sharp shiney it has the cartouch still on the stock but faded lots of blueing and a very nice brownish patina ...the negatives are years ago someone filed off the bar and saddle ring ..i read this was sometimes done by left handed shooters ..kinda makes sense since i shoot left handed that bar and ring would be uncomfortable ..the sn is 33513 i read burnside made about 30,000 rifles which were put into stores and brought out for the indian wars and surplus sell off ...any additional info would be awesome i know i can get the bar and ring bit in the U.S. so i dont think it has a huge affect on the value ...im not sure if im keeping this piece its not really what i collect i just thought it was interesting ..
