Hi Guys a friend has a model 1900 Mannlicher Schoenauer Carbine in 6.5X54
Calibre. Can you help me answer the following three questions.

#1 Do you have any idea where I could find a aperture sight for this rifle?
#2 What brand would best fit
#3 All material I have found regarding this firearm refers to a model 1903
rather than 1900. Is this the same rifle or a misprint or what??

Any help you can render will be greatly ... Thank you

Poorpi

The M1903 is not a military rifle. They are very collectable, and a nice one would be between $1000 and $1500, which is much more than a milsurp goes for. Keep in mind that ammo is VERY difficult to find, and when you do find some, it is usually expensive.

The best aperture sight is one that replaces the bolt stop. Its windage arm is springloaded, and pivots back and forth as the bolt handle is cycled. These are around, but may be hard to find. As MD said, drilling holes should really be avoided on a classic like this.
