I was just curious if anyone would be able to help me with the history on a Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless .380 maybe even dare to put a ball park value on it.

The Pistol is stamped "Shanghai Municipal Police", the original leather holster and magazines are with it. The number '13' or '15' is stamped on the frame and the slide. I'd say the pistol is in VG (well over 80%) condition.

any help on where to go or who to talk to would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Many years ago, International Firearms in Mtl. was selling these inexpensively; however, the condition was not a good as yours (provided that it has not been refinished). The value for Prohibited firearms in Canada is somewhat Limited. IMO, you could expect to see $250 - $350 for such a pistol maybe a little more with accessories. If the same pistol were offered in the US, you could expect US$600 plus.

I'm just waiting to head back down to get some photo's of it then I'm submitting them to colt to get the history on the pistol. All I know now is it was one of the first ones sent to Shanghai and made in 1925.
