Has anyone used a savage model 25 as a donor action for a build ?( thinking 223 ) I know there are far superior actions in the savage and Remington line but would it produce a reasonable result. Or is this action not suitable for changing barrels like regular savage actions are.

Nothing fancy just an accurate rifle under MOA out to 300 yards or maybe a touch more. Maybe a new barrel, Boyd's stock and bottom metal that isn't made of plastic. Heck even a single shot with no mag would do.

Thanks

I am not sure about them honestly, but they don't have a "feel" I would look for..... might be better off with a 10/110 action if your set on inexpensive or Savage... maybe even an axis donor.

or... do it right and go Remington!!!! lol

No, it won't easily work. The barrel is pressed in and pinned or something goofy like that. I am told it can be done but more dickin' around than what it's worth. Go with the 10/110 and you can order a pre fit barrel or find a better donor for your project.
