Took two 50's out yesterday to see if they work with el cheapo Winchester Super Target loads. Blam Blam Blam! Yes, they both do. One is a really nice one I recently bought from a fellow CGNer. I have a third one that I have used for gopher defence. The nice one will move up into first place now.

I love those 50's. They are heavy, for sure. They seem to have a distinct bark. :)

I hunted a couple of Models 50 over the years and even a glass barreled Model 59. All worked as they should. It is important to keep them well timed. New recoil spring is 10.00 from Numrich and solves most cycling issues. Deadliest close range duck gun I ever shot was a 50 Pigeon grade equipped with a Cutts Compensator and the Spreader tube. Patterned steel #2 shot like you would not believe. When they are over the decoys all you had to do was get that yawning muzzle some where near them and that was it. I do believe that Cutts and later a vented Poly choked Ithaca 37 made my lab deaf. Or maybe she just did not like to listen to me....

I have a 50 featherweight with a short barrel with a vintage early 60's posi choke on it. I bought from an oriental fellow that use to use it near hong kong to hunt pheasants, care to add it to your collection. FS
