Just scored one today on clearance at a store I sometimes visit! Have been eyeballing it for over a year and couldn't resist once they put the price down. Does anyone else have one?

Just looking to see if there are any issues I should be aware of or preferred bullet weights before I start load testing.

Great rifles. Congrats!!
Love my 300 WSM.
117-120 grain works best in the 25-06 if hunting anything semi-sturdy. 100 grain for yote's and such.

I use 100gr TSX bullets in my 25-06 and they have dropped 2 moose with ease. 120gr bullets (cup and core) for game smaller and thinner than moose. I have an Extreme weather in 30-06 and I love it so much.

My go to powder for my load . with the 120gr hornady is reloder 25, for buddy's rifle with 115gr TSX bullet it loves reloder 22

Yeah I already have a couple in .257 Roberts and a Weatherby. Mostly was just wondering what luck anyone else had with the same rifle - especially with the short barrel these have. Have a shelf full of bullets and powder - just looking for a good starting point

I have one in 25-06. Heavy thing. Had to rework the clubby B&C stock. Has PTG bottom metal. Safety is noisy. Would have sent it down the road if it wasn't so accurate. Sits in the back of my cabinet now getting no use...
50 gr IMR4350 and a 120gr Hornady ILHP, 3000 fps

Just curious but why swap out the bottom metal?

Nice rifle .... I don't think the 100gr Partiton would be a bad place to start with that rifle. I've started using them in my 257Roberts.
