Model 70 Question

Will the bottom metal off a Model 70 XTR Sporter DM 30-06 fit a Model 70 Classic featherweight in 280 rem?

I love my 280 but can't stand the Drop Hinge magazine and I have found a Model 70 XTR Sporter DM and before I buy it, I would like to know for sure the bottom metal and mags are interchangeable.

Any info would be appreciated.

I don't have a definite answer.

IIRC the DM is wider at the front. I think that the DM can be made to work with some stock inletting.

Dont have one in front of me but yes, this will work.

Should work fine and feed fine, as I believe the mags are centrefeed. Spare ones are hard to come by though.
