Model 70 stocks

I recently got a model 70 featherweight in 257 roberts ,, I am a bit short in the arms and would like the LOP too be a bit shorter .. I do not want too cut this stock and know where there is a PRE 64 stock that has already been cut too shorten the LOP .. Can I put the pre 64 stock on a post 64 model 70 .. The pre 64 is also a featherweight stock .. Thanks in advance

Congrats on the Roberts.
There are so many different stocks for the Model 70.
3 action screws and 2 screw versions depending on the action type.
New rifles have Short, WSM length and Long actions. I believe all 257's were built on the std, long action.
I am no expert but you will need to identify what action you have.
How many action screws do you have? My pre 64 had 3 action screws but had a different spacing than my post 64 that also had 3 screws.
I have seen some featherweight stocks on the EE at times.

My other option is too get a long scope ,, One that comes back farther :?? But most companies are making scopes shorter not longer .. this is not my first Roberts .. I had a Mauser in 257 also but did not like how high the scope sat and had too lift my face off the stock too see though the scope

Could get a stock from boyds they do custom lop. If it is under $500 they will ship it here

I don't believe pre-64 and post 64 FWT stocks will interchange. . Difference in action length . . You may try moving the scope a little further back it may help with eye relief . .

I have the scope back as far as it will go now .. and it has off set rings on it too ..... I need a shorter stock or a longer scope .. Or longer arms LOL
