Someone please confirm: the feed lips machined in the bottom of Remington 700/600 receivers are there to work in tandem with the factory follower to retain the cartridge and assist in the proper feeding...correct?
And these integral lips are machined differently for magnum(.532 case head), standard(.473" case head), and 223 sized cases right?
I just got a model 600 receiver from a guy who says it was a magnum, but fear that it is not for a magnum(it came with A .473" bolt), thus will not work for my application.

Figured so. Bought a 600 Mohawk that was supposedly a 350 Rem Mag originally. 3 digits on the bolt didn't match the receiver serial number like they normally do, and it has a .473 bolt face.
Trying to build a 450 Marlin and figured this would be perfect for that, and unique as all get out...getting some brass for it tomorrow to see if it will feed. Hoping the seller will cooperate if required.
