Can any of you Nutz give a guy some info on this rifle in .308? Any articles or reviews would be great. Personal experiences are also welcome.

Thanks:rockOn:

Ive handled one and was impressed. For $700 its right there with the Savage models in the same price. Should be an accurate rifle. The stock actually wasnt too bad for injection molded plastic

Slap the SPS varmint into a 700 VSSF stock (short action sendero) and you'd have a sweet rifle.

Just so happens I have a mint one for sale in the Parts + Bits section (grin).

well Im sure the factory stock on the SPS V is good enough, hell Ive seen guys use those Stevens rifles, and hit what they're aiming at, and the stocks on those rifles are a notch below sweet

if you buy an SPS and a new stock you might as well get a VLS and save the hassle.

Yup, I was looking at the 700SPS Tactical (same as varmint, but 20") and the 700P LTR (20" fluted, aluminium bedded stock, parkerized). Price difference is only $250. I figure the stock alone is worth the added $250, let alone the fluting and other small refinements.

I love my sps-v in .223 rem. Managed a 3 shot quarter sized grouping at 200 yards and I'm pretty much a newbie with rifles. Can't imagine .308 would be any less accurate.
