Guys, my cousin wants me to sell two rifles for him. One is a new, unfired, in the box Appache, Battle of the Bighorn in 44-40, MINT!. The other is a fired, but near mint, RCMP centenial 30-30. What would you say would be a fair asking price for them? I want to list them on the EE at prices fair to him and any potential buyer. I am a military rifle guy and don't know much about sporting rifle value so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Al

The unused one $400.00. The RCMP one that has been fired, $300.00. That is if the boxes are mint for both etc..

The RCMP "Member's Issue" will bring more. The serial number is prefixed by the MP brand. The public sales model has RCMP then the serial number. Overall, the condition of the musket will affect the price/value.

The Blue Book recognizes 3 distinct RCMP rifles; the RCMP, the RCMP Members Issue, and the RCMP Presentation. The price for either the RCMP or the Members Issue is listed at $795 for 100% condition. The presentation model is $9995 (CHOKE).

Blue book price seems higher than what i'd expect they sell for. There's really not much collector interest in most of the winchester commemoratives for many years.

"Apache": not a lot of collector interest but could be desireable for Cowboy Action Shooting. My guestimate in the $400 range, maybe higher if the 44-40 chambering appeals to the CAS crowd.

There was possibly more collector interest in the RCMP model, but firing it has lessened desireability for collectors. Value will be mostly as a shooter/conversation piece. Harder to put a value on this one, guestimate roughly $350-$400 range, maybe a bit more if you have lots of time. It's going to compete against regular 30-30s in that price range.

Winchester abused the commemorative designation for a long time. They produced so many commerorative models that few have any collector value.
