I was looking to upgrape the sights on my model 94, but can't seem to find the glowing williams front sights for sale in canada. I did find the foolproof receiver sight. Could the receiver sight work good even with the factory front sight? If so, would it still work in low light situations?

... In answer to your question.. YES it will. The size of the hole (in the aperture) is the key factor as regards how low light you can go, IE the Dimmer the light generally, the larger the hole (aperture )required. Having never used the "Fire Sights" I can't comment from first hand experience, but in theory at least, they and similar versions look good, and no doubt, would be an aid to quicker "Target Aquisition"!..... I tried the Foolproof rear and FireSight on my Marlin. The bead size is larger than the factory sight I had been using, and I found it hard to shoot as accurately. In addition, I found that it didn't show up as well as I expected in low light. Try the factory sight first and see how you like it. The rifle may shoot a bit high, and require a taller front sight. If so, that would be the perfect excuse to try the FireSight.
My present Model 94 wears a Foolproof and a brass bead up front, probably the factory front sight. It shoots well and I don't plan to upgrade to a glowing sight.

Order Direct

I spoke to Williams in the states couple of days ago about a front sight and target knobs for my Williams receiver sight..and yep, they ship to Canada and you'll get it in about 10 days.

I know this to be correct because last year I ordered a complete sight from Williams and it showed up in about 10 days. They're good guys to deal with, pretty knowledgeable with answers to most of my questions.
