Model 94 mag tube sliding forward

My model 94 mag tube has slid forward
Any ideas on how to fix it

I had a Rossi do this to me. The only fix was a new pin & mag tube.

Had this on a 1892.
Made a small shim to fit around the tube on the receiver side. It tightened things up and hasn't happened since, thousands of full house 357 loads later.

Your mag spring has to be grossly over length to exert that much pressure. cut the spring off...I adjust mine so that there is only 3 fingers spring sticking out of the feed tube, you just need enough spring tension to push the last round onto the elevator.
I think if you do as I said and reassemble the rifle , your problem will disappear without anymore work being done.

It is likely recoil inertia causing the mag. tube to shift. Is the plug screw engaging the hole in the barrel properly?

Recoil was a factor. And yes, mis-aligned pilot hole drilling in the muzzle end of barrel was the cause - in my case anyways

drill and tap a hole in the bottom of your barrel band & mag tube and use a grub screw

or

solder a shim around the mag tube behind the barrel band that prevents it from moving forward

or

place your tapped hole/grub screw in the lug that holds the hand guard (so it's hidden)
