I’ve just installed a side plate for a scope mount on a Model 94, im not sure if it’s ment this way but the finger lever pin retaining screw (the bigger forward screw) does not catches the thread, it just sits there, is it ment that way? it’s defining longer then the original screw

The screw has to: secure the base to the receiver, and, extend far enough into the receiver to keep the pin seated in the bolt.
If a screw does this, it should be good to go.

Two sizes of screws normally came with the Weaver mount. If it doesn't fit it's the wrong screw.

Make sure you rotate the scope 90 degrees anti clockwise so the windage adjustment is on top and the elevation is on the left side. This is required as the older model 94 ejects straight up...

this is post ‘64, but i just realized that both pre and post have different size screw quoted for that hole, thanks guntech, i’ll try the screw without the plate when i get achance

....and the screw that’s came with the plate is smaller then original, making me believe it’s ment for pre ‘64 94s, after running the original screw through sample plate at home despot i’m looking for a 1/4-28 machine screw which they don’t carry so now to find a store that does carry it ffs
