Selling a Winchester Model 94 and need an idea what to ask for it.

mfg 1954, 20 barrel wood and metal have been professionally redone in the last 9 years. Williams FP peep sight installed, rear sight removed and blank insert installed. Cycles smooth, no problems feeding. A few handling marks but less than most guns this age. I know the sight alone is worth about $100 installed and I know what I have into it as far as the reblueing and woodwork go. What would be a fair asking price? This is not a collector by far, definitely a shooter.

Thanks

$350 - $450. And only because it's a pre 64 with a $100 peep.

NAA.

A couple of things to remember. The buyer doesn't care what you paid for it, or how much money you have invested in it.
The buyer, of anything, sets the price. In other words, you the seller will name a price, but it will only sell if the buyer agrees with that figure, or a lower figure he may offer.
When you buy someting, anything from a house to a mouse, and put extra money into it, you may, or you may not, get your money back on resale.
In your case, the aperature sight is an asset, but will not increase the price by the total amount it cost to put it on. Half the potential buyers may not like the sight and don't want it.
Same theory applies to the finishing work.
