Guys I was about to purchase a model 700VLS chambered in .223(please do not suggest another caliber to meI'm just comparing rifles), mainly for cheap centerfire shooting, the odd yote and groundhog. Nice gun, but you wouldn't want to carry it around long at 8.5lb's.
Then the new lebaron catalog came out and the have a Model Seven CDL in it on special at $769. Funny thing is I have a 700CDL chambered in 30-06 that they would be a matching pair/his-hers kinda deal
Question is, When both rifles are chambered in .223 is the short barrel(20") of the the model Seven going to be any hinderance over the longer barrel of the 700(26")? Do the actions cycle differently?
They are pretty muched priced the same at the end of the deal, and The 700 typically fits me perfectly, but the model Seven has now caught my eye.
