'Modern' firearm in 7.62X54R?

Tigr, Saiga, Romak3, SVD, RPK, PKT, PKM .... Ahotnic.....
There are quite a number of them, but since the East opened up they embraced the 30-06 like there's no tomorrow, with few to go 308-wise.
It's not about efficiency or power...it's about marketing....

Yes, it is still a front line cartridge with the Russians.

There are some very fine rifles made for this caliber. And I'm not talking about LMGs or rifles with fluted chambers... These are the ones one would see when attending international competitions.
