As those of you who have been following the original thread have found it was getting long and up until last week not much new to report. For those who have not been following the folks at SFSS/RCMP have indicated that the classification should be rendered later this month which is not only very exciting for us but also much faster than we anticipated.
SO here is what we have to date

Basic rifle will have a Lilja stainless steel matchgrade barrel chambered in .223 Wylde, 8 twist, 18.6" length, rifle gas system length, threaded muzzle 1/2x28 TPI. The no additional cost options for contours will be light, medium and bull.
We are debating offering a 20" option but I guess we see what you guys have to say. frankly I see no benefit to 20"

We will again be offering the optional Proof Research CFW barrel, only option here is 223 Wylde, 8 twist, 18.6" with rifle length gas system.

204 Ruger we are still on the fence with due to feeding issues. Apparently from our research it only cycles well in a couple of mags. Again more input is valued.

So far stock options will be fixed A2 or 6 position commercial as base model offering.
Upgrades will be Magpul CTR and PRS or KFS Tac Mod.

Fore end furniture for base model will be DPMS free float tube, options will be JP, Fortis and PRI, we are looking at a few other brands, but it seems quad rails are no longer vogue.

Still nothing definitive on pricing but we are working on that, we expect to be below the $3k mark for the base model rifles.

More to come as we get things figured out.

Will we be able to provide our own keymod/mlok rails of choice should you not carry them?

You would then be purchasing a base model rifle then. Just like all other manufacturers the only way a rifle leaves the facility is complete, tested, and functional, not semi complete but hopeful.
To deal with every one of the literally hundreds of manufacturer just of furniture becomes a bigger nightmare than we are prepared to deal with.

We are looking for suggestions on what besides what we already offer could be provided given enough demand, export capability, and compatibility.

There you go.

Hopefully that's because they've deemed it a variant of the MH and not a variant of the AR15. That would be disastrous.

I take it the MV will have all the same features as the MH? Namely the left side-charging slick upper, ambi bolt release and ability to to use standard stocks and handguards?

Also, could APEX handguards be an potential choice?

As the MV is identical in almost everything except dimensions to the MH there should be no excuse for them to even ponder it being an AR variant.

We will look into Apex.

Sorry, the chances are slim and none for anything apart from 223 and possibly, possibly 204. We are still deciding on 204.

I was thinking 204 but it seems that it really needs a longer barrel (22-23") to get the real capabilities and advantages of the round, couple that with possible feeding issues and i would rather just stick to a 223 myself.

This is exactly why we are on the fence so to speak. I know it works, but my question is does it work well?

Any thoughts on buttstock compatibility Rick? I'd like to use a UBR I've been squirreling away for a pdw build. Is that going to be an issue a la MH? I'd like to know because if so I can just order the base model & go from there. Only reason I keep beating this horse is because I've asked 3-4 times in here & other mv threads without response. Should I just call?

I thought we had been pretty clear that the UBR, the fixed MOE will NOT work as they interfere with the charge handle.
The ACS and STR will work but only if the stock is extended.

once the gun is classed as NR will the presale be unlimited or done in runs? First second runs of 100.

Being a smaller shop to keep production runs within our means will necessitate keeping production runs to about 100 per batch. Otherwise the cash outlay for parts becomes astronomical, storage is an issue and everything just gets out of hand. Better to make several smaller runs and get it right.

Are you guys getting any closer on price for basic set-up?

are we looking at spending more or less to the MH platform

Thanks

As mentioned, we expect to be under the $3k mark, which is less than the MH base model is. Exact pricing we won't know until we actually place the orders for the parts we don't make that come in from the USA. Given the impending election, the results of which could devalue the looney significantly, we won't even speculate final price until afterwards.

I think the first run of modern hunter buyers get first shot at the modern varminter. Not sure how many of those 75 will be getting the varminter but space on the first 100 might be limited.

So how much is it gonna be??? Can you offer it in 243, 22-250 or 6.5? Can I have a custom serial number? Lmao. Did I miss anything else answered 15 times. Lol

This is great news. I mentioned it in the last thread after doing some reading on some of the feeding issues with the .204 Ruger, but how likely, and easy would it be to do something like .20 Practical? I really don't know how much work it would be for you guys, so please forgive me if it's out of the question, I'm just dead serious about blasting .20 cal pills. The 20 Practical seems like the most "practical" solution for a .204 MV and doesn't have the downfalls of the .204 Ruger in this type of platform.
