modifications to #4mk1 bolt

I seem to recall seeing a #### on open lee enfield, a 308 conversion set up for target shooting. Does a conversion kit exist to do this?

Also, is there a method to power down the bolt spring to make a #4 bolt easier to ####?

.308's exist. #### on opening not possible in that action.

You might be thinking of a P14 action, they can be converted no problem.

There is a method of speed locking a No. 4. The striker fall is shortened substantially, and a much stiffer spring installed. The issue trigger assembly is replaced with a Canjar. These modifications make the rifle harder to ####, but the firing pin action is much faster. If a reduced power spring were installed in a standard action, there would be a risk of primers puncturing.
