I have this old $40 H&R revolver in .22 that I am "customizing"(a real Bubba-job). I've already painted it black(before was stainless, but peeling off) and I am thinking of cutting the barrel shorter, to 4.5inches so that the gun will still be within restricted barrel lenght. Can I do that without breaking any laws? I am not tampering with serial numbers, ammo capacity and barrel will be OVER the limit of 4 inches. Do I need to notify CFC?? Just curious...
