Apparently the Canadian Armed Forces retrofitted all their C7s and C8s with a green pistol grip which features a captive design to hold securely a plastic sleeve containing 2 x AA batteries.(Pretty nifty idea for an Eotech).A quick release design feature allows for easy access to the sleeve w/batteries.

Have any of these hit the civilian market yet? If so, what supplier?

It's an OTIS grip kit without the cleaning kit. I'm not sure if they sell it by itself.

Hard to remember but I think we've been using them for over 10 yrs. Dirt simple method to carry spare batteries.

I don't know if Diemaco/Colt Canada make their own pistol grips or not but all the furniture on the C7A2 and C8A3 is green. The folding foregrips that we were issued were from Cadex and held 2 CR123s

Regardless that's what it is. It doesn't come with a grip. You install it in the grip you have.

The gun plumbers weren't too pleased at having to install hundreds of these things when they first came in the system.

Cleaning kits? Batteries? Y'all doing ARs wrong

I did, and all the grip kits contain the plastic sleeve intended for storing the Otis cleaning items.

None of the images show batteries inserted into the grip kit sleeve and none show a green pistol grip.

x2 AA batteries fit in it too, it's the exact same one the CF uses.

The insert is the same for the CF and the cleaning kit.
