Hello all, at the latest cqb match I got off one shot in modified prone before (it seems) the shell bounced off the ground and back into the breech causing a jam. I'm running a 10.5" norc. I assume I have a crappy style; can anyone offer any tips or pointers?

Sine the Norc has a mag release on the left, you can swap hands. Run the trigger with your left hand and lay your right arm on the ground and hold the forend with your right hand. This position lifts the rifle about 4" higher off the ground. Also very stable.

You can't do this with a rifle unless there is a mag release on the left side, since the right hind is out of commission.

Hmmm. I shall try the second suggestion (left hand it) while keeping in mind the 1st suggestion (it has or will happen - I was wondering if this is the whole reason this position is in there; it's quite a challenge). This, ahem, guy I know was running reloads and the exact same thing happened to him and he was also wondering if it was maybe loaded too hot and the ejection was particularly strong or something.

Also I meant crappy 'personal' style as in form, not crappy style of rifle! This thing is a hoot - thank goodness for the EE :) I can't believe the Yanks don't get this kind of a deal. Craziness.

If you shoot left handed (lay on your left shoulder) the case will eject up. You can use the right hand to fire the gun. But the bolt release is on the left (bottom) side.

You don't need the bolt release if you count rounds and re-load after 4 shots.

I performed this drill 5 times today at Barney's CQB clinic in Petawawa without a single stoppage.
Same goes for the person who I was partnered up with.
