Modified REM choke usage

Hi there,

I'm kind of new with shotguns and I would like to know what kind of slugs I can use in my Rem 870 express shotgun with a modified choke.

Yup standard rifled slugs I suggest you try it out with a varity of different slugs to see what the gun likes and to determine your point of impact.

My 870 shoots slugs more accurately with the modified choke tube than with improved cylinder. This is with the 20" rifle sighted barrel.

Modified on my 870, and I can shoot rifled/foster slugs (the lead ones, cheapo packs of like 5 for $4 or less) pretty darn accurately.

As tjhaile said, the Mod is better than the improved for slugs, and has been stated so by many other shooters

You will have to pattern your shotgun to determine if Foster or Brenneke slugs group better. Each barrel is a law unto itself.
