O C D all that money for 6-8 oz really
The stock alone will save ~16oz or so (1lb). IIRC my model 7 synthetic stock weigh 34oz or something like that.

Stocks are a controlled item by US Law and require import/export licensing to cross the border in either direction. You can not just buy one in the US and drive back with it legally. You can't pick it up in the US and drive back with it. You can't have a friend in the US bring it up. Import/export licensing is required in advance.
WILDCAT stocks as recommended are are made in CANADA Dennis !RJ
+1Take all the chit awff it and weigh it.
Sling, scope and that monstrosity rear stock thing.
Probably a pound or so there.
Put the ammo elsewhere.
Find a lighter scope.
Or tie helium balloons to it.
Ditch the scope and base and rings all together, keep the front sight and add a quality rear aperture sight. if you want to truly make it as light weight as possible.
I'm not sold on ultra-lightweight rifles. They don't always handle well and shooting from the bench can be a bit weird. Anything aorund +/- 7lbs is plenty light enough for me. YMMV.
I had this 700 358Win in a Wildcat and it came in at 6.5lbs scoped, which is about as light as I'd like for this chambering. I swapped out the WC stock for a heavier McMillan and like the rifle a better at a bit over 7lbs. No knock agin the WC, but I think I will use it on a 7/08 instead.

- swapped out the scope for a VariX-III 1.5-5X20
- new lightweight B&C stock
- Al Gentry lightweight bases and rings
- removed front sight
As you see it it weighs 6.54 lbs.....

Did you add the 4th hole?
What kind of weight is the B&C?
Are you happy with your current weight?
