While I wait for inventory to arrive on a Mossberg 930 I would like to modify my P-350 a bit. Here's what I'm thinking:

Cutting down the stock (synthetic) about 1/4-3/8" for a better lop for my frame (mossberg fits nicely at 14" and at 14.5" I'm "reaching" a bit when handling this shotgun. Any advice or tricks for accomplishing this? Im assuming I'll have to modify the recoil pad as well.

The recoil pad itself is very "sticky". Does anyone have tips on helping with this? I've heard hairspray or nailpolish does the trick. Or will shortening LOP mean I won't get caught on my shirt as much?

Lastly since I'm having trouble finding the recoil reduction accessory I was thinking of using lead fishing weights (about 10 oz) and filling the stock with spray foam insulation so that they don't rattle around. Is there a downside to this that I'm not thinking of?

I have not looked inside a mossberg synthetic stock. If you cut it, you may have to rebuild an insert for you pad to attach to. To add weight I would go with lead shot inside an old sock or something similar.
