I like being able to the collapse the stock on my Benelli M4 but there are a few things I want to change. I would like to have a bit softer cheek piece without without making the gun looks awful. As it is now if I don't shoulder the gun well with slugs it tends to smack me in the cheek a bit and I don't want it happening to new shooters I let use it. Is there a good stick on black foam or moleskin type product I can use, or even a replacement cheek piece?

Also, I don't like the midlength setting on the stock. It is too short and puts the cheekpiece too high. Is it possible to cut another notch to make a new position, maybe just under an inch shy of fully extended? Has anyone done this? Will it ruin the metal or anything like that? Benelli says one of the selling points for the Marines was the M4's modularity, but there aren't that many differant aftermarket options avalible.

Apparantly Marines have some of the same issues.

This is what I am looking for but it doesn't meet my "not make the gun look awful" criteria.

I remember reading years ago on the Benelli forum that some guys were cutting extra notches on their recoil spring tubes, the only real issue is that the new notch{es} won't be anodized.
