Millennials are the ones who are going to save private firearm ownership.

Google it,

They are the fastest growing segment of the firearms community,
They are far more likely to be into 3-gun, tactical shooting sports etc,
They want to own and shoot the guns from movies and video games...

There are many articles, and a few good studies that back millennials as the key to private firearm ownership in the future.

Also... 1982-2004 (some debate still but generally accepted) means the oldest millennials are 35 years old.. Most people I see at the range are this age and under... especially the ones with black rifles.

Spoken for truth Sir
The rcent record number of PAL applicants surely fall in this age group.

So is restricting semi-autos going to be the liberals way to bring back the long gun registry, without breaking their promise not to bring back the long gun registry?

How many posts do you have to start with your fear mongering crap.

"fear mongering" or not, there's truth in what is being said here. Trubro LOVES to pander to whatever is new in the news in order to distract from whatever his latest embarrassment is. It won't shock me if they DO propose something highly restrictive based on whatever the ass-hats south of us are dealing with as though we are somehow responsible for it.

That said, I also agree with Daver's observations.

For those of us who try to stay out of the political side of things and just enjoy this sport in its various forms, we may not hear about a thing like this until its too late. It doesn't hurt to at least be informed. Acting on that information is our own choice and one way or the other we then have to accept the consequences.

I agree with the thread title.

I've been saying for a while now that the easiest way for the Libs to screw us would be to stop issuing RPALs.

Of course, they could just not issue any more licences, period...

There is allot of people getting RPALs these days. Been hearing "hey, I'm going for my restricted!" or "went for my PAL and I got my restricted too"

I think this new legislation will try and curb this trend.

Nothing u can do about the ar-15 if he decides to go ahead with something like this but all the non restricted semi auto would suddenly disappear

^^^THIS^^^
There are still plenty of ar's and ak's floating around out there in attics from when they were nr.
Same will happen if they decide to restrict everything except there are way more out there now then there was then.

Mine expires in mid summer so I sent the info to renew it and usually it takes 2-3 weeks before it's in the mail. I sent it in early January. I'm still in stage 2, what ever that is.

Just got a letter from the RCMP. Got a little nervous when I felt no card inside. Turns out they just want me to state what reason I have restricteds for and a copy of my gun club. When renewing an RPAL, if there's a section at the end of the form for comments, might not hurt to tell them what you use your restricteds for and attach a copy of your club membership. Might speed things up.

This should be in the General Firearms section me thinks.

That's good to know!

I got a letter (8.5x11") envelope from the RCMP a week ago... Let's just say that my heartbeat went up a little... Had no clue what it was. I opened it, and it ended being their response for one of my Access to Privacy Act request... lol

You guys are more nervous than a long tail cat in a room of rocking chairs:p

Indeed, CGN's reputation has taken a hard hit, it used to be a reliable source of info but not so much now. I've been reading what people are saying about CGN lately on some Canadian hunting forums and on NFA and CSSA FB pages. Now it's seen as a panic room full of people who fall for the latest paranoid and unsubstantiated rumours about new gun laws. Always posted by the same 2-3 guys who keep detracting from what they first said.

Where's the like button for that post.

2009... Ill bet you have seen it... I am a 2011 myself.

And I couldn't agree more.

This isn't reddit. there are no updoots. Just stop bumping the ####ing thread if you don't want to see it. Simple. Let it slide to the bottom. If you haven't noticed, I apologized for making the post and then stopped responding.

Copy that. Not sure exactly why though...lol. When PAL renewals were free I renewed mine every year, give or take. Within weeks I'd have my new card in the mail.
Now it's been 2 months and "I be all like WTF?"
