Yes sir, the ball bearings burnish the moly into the bullet, i only use bearings and moly on cast bullets when people request moly coating. You can use BB's that you used as a kid in your Daisy or remove BB steel shot from a shotshell, no need to use any fancy expensive ball bearings. I use a mix of the BBs and the same amount of tumbling media,(say 2oz. of BB's), 1/2 teaspoon of dry moly and couple hundred bullets and tumble for 1/2 hr or more. I do it in a dedicated nalgene bottle in my tumbler(or 2 nalgene bottles) so it keeps the tumbler clean for other use.
