Mondragon 1908 rifle

Thanks for that, DIOPTER!

I have lusted after one of those things for the past 50 years.

I have been saving up, though, and have just $24,984 left to raise!

When I get the money together, do you think it will still be available?:)

I'd love to rechamber one to 280 Rem, drill and tap and install see-through rings with a Tasco 4X scope and use it as a "truck gun"!

Another example of Simpson's ridiculous pricing. My friend Dennis Kroh (Empire Arms) sold one for about $6,000.00 a few years ago, I actually got to handle it in person, it was marked to a German WW1 Air Force Unit.

I'm pretty sure that if you do that, someone, somewhere, will put a hit on your head. Mosins already are the source of a lot of emotions, imagine a Mondragon.

If it sells, is it a ridiculous price? Maybe your friend should have asked more?

Like anything, if it's priced properly, it sells within a reasonable amount of time. If it's "egotistically priced" then it takes much, much longer to sell, if at all.

If a business owner wants to run their business like Barnum & Baily's circus, (looking for that one sucker...) then all the power to them. I hope they have lots of storage space for those overpriced items that don't sell.

It's been at Simpson's for at least a year, and possibly longer.

I was in Simpsons today, and had a chance to see this rifle. It sits in a case with the other high priced guns, and frankly I would rather have had some of the miniatures they had over this. That said the condition didnt wow me for the price, the stock was rougher than I had expected. Mind you I saw alot of guns today that I wanted more than this one, but if I was stinking rich, and SAFN in 7x57 just wouldnt do, I would have bought it. As for Simpsons, I enjoyed my trip thier, thier prices were fair, on things like books they have were insanely LOW. If your in the area, and to me all true gunnuts will have to be one day, its worth a visit.
