Great time to get all these 1/4 MOA Savages out from under the bed. So who's going?

Ron,
Just a slight program change, I think the round count is the same. Besides 1000 yards is a lot more fun than 500 yards anyway. The 3 strings at 1000 is what conviced me to drive 4 hours each way. Then I will do it again the next weekend for the Fall Palma. 2&15 @ 800, 900 and 1000 yards.

Tom,
Wish I could join you.New parts taking a little longer to heal but will be
up and dancing for next season.

I'll be there, what happened with to the shorter ranges? I thought it was 500-1000?

3 goes at 1000yds just requires the LR targets and target frames. To shoot 500 requires, in addition, mid range frames and targets, and lots more work for butt crew.

And, as Tom says shooting at 1000 is more fun and challenging.

Thanks for the info - just curious as to why the program changed.

I agree, 1K is challenging (especially for me as a .223 guy), and easier for the crew. As for fun....well, I'm still learning and the farthest I've shot is 900M at Connaught this year, and I'm still deciding if it is fun.

Anyway, will see you guys there on Sunday.

Ron,
1000 yards is only about 15 yards farther then 900m:D
Use your 900m elevation and you will hit paper. Your .223 with heavy bullets will shoot about the same as a .308 with 155's.
Gord, take it easy and let things heal, no need to push it to hard. There will still be lots of shooting next year and you will be good to go for those service conditions run-downs.

Ron,
This is an opportunity to obtain a good wind zero in a set condition..also your elevation, before your sighters count. Pick a spot in the backdrop and keep shooting at it until you're about 8 inches below it. Memorize the wind condition. Shoot at the target for 2 sighters, and you're good to go. Cannot stress memorizing the wind conditions enough. Good luck, can't make it, have other fish to fry.

Thanks for all the encouragement - I'll be there, now just deciding to use the same load as I did in Ottawa, or a new one I'm working on - just finished the chrono work, 100FPS faster and a SD of 9.3 FPS, ES of 33 FPS.

See everyone there.

Norm B won the F Open at the Mons Club Championship. Norm only dropped one point but had a whack of V's to back it up. I believe he was shooting a Stevens 200 of his own creation in 6.5-.284. Norm please pipe in if I am incorrect on this and maybe provide a few details on your rifle.
T Betts won the TR Class shooting a .223. He was shooting a Barnard action that I believe was in a Robertson stock, shooting 80 gr Noslers.
This match was 2&15 rounds at 1000 yards 3 times.

Tom,
You detailed the rifle pretty much. Its pillar bedded in a Brownells composite LR BR stock, painted chrome yellow with black stripes and a 'mad hornet' decal on the butt. The mag well is filled with lead shot and glue. I added a stainless Brownells tactical bolt handle with a Rifle Basix SAV3 trigger. It has a Sharp Shooter Supply target recoil lug. The barrel is a MacClennan 30 inch Stainless 4 groove, with 1-8 twist. Its fitted like a Remington with a shoulder (no Nut).
It has a Ken Farrell base and rings with a LR 6.5-20 Leupold bumped up to 18 to 40 by Premier Reticle.

I used the scope at 40X even in the fog.
