Who is in for the Mons Club Championship and the ORA Fall Palma on Oct 9-10?

If the format is the same as years past the Mons Club Championship will consist of 2 & 15 at 1000 yards 3 times on Saturday. The Fall Palma will be up to 5 sighters and 15 on score at 800 yards followed by 2 & 15 at 900 yards and 1000 yards on Sunday.

I do believe Mons is 2 x 900 and 1 x 1000 as of yesterday.

Thanks Bob.

I guess they changed the format this year. I don't know why they wouldn't just run a Palma course for both days. I will have to bring plot sheets for every possible target combination. ICFRA, Palma and DCRA.

Huh, that IS different than last year, still have those plots sheets in my book: Mons Champs was 1000, 1000 and 1000. Still good fun though -- are you staying at the same place as last time, Tom?

Hi Abbey,
Six of us coming up from SW Ontario for the matches this time. The usual suspects plus one F Class shooter from the club. Driving up Sat morning and staying at the same place as last year.

The ORA Journal only indicated the Oct 10th Sunday. Are the majority of people going to the Sat or Sunday match?

Trevor,
Go Saturday and if you like it :) you can always sleep over and shoot Sunday too.
If staying in your car, bring blankets cause it's starting to cool at night.

congrats John F(O) Mike FTR Dave TR winners of the 2011 Mons Club Championship Match

It was a great October day for shooting 1000 yards at Mons range in Base Borden. 27 shooters contested the Championship under clear blue skies and switch quartering head winds. We shot on ICFRA TR 1000 yd target faces, with the F-Class scoring the 1 min V as a 6. Bob Raymond who had the 1/2 min centre pasters for the F-class targets was unavailable.

John Kajfes won the F(o) class with his shot out 6.5 Gibbs. I shouldn't have shown him how to clean it to bring it back to life.

Mike Chung won the F(TR) F(M) class. I think he was shooting his Savage 6.5/284 long range F-class rig.

Dave Dixon from London won the TR section. He won it last year as well, successfully defending his trophy for 2011.

We will reconvene on the range Sunday morning to contest the Fall Palma. I hope Gord Ogg gets his scope reticle problem straightened out by morning.
