Montana Vintage Arms Vernier on an 1886

I can recommend 28 grs 5744 or 36 grs Varget under both 350 gr and 420 gr bullets. Some unburned grs of 5744 remain in the barrel but that isn't detrimental to function or accuracy.
 
I shoot 32gr of 4198 under a 405gr leaf flat-nose bullet from local brand Tru-flight. Sure I can cast them, but they are better than I can make'em, being more uniform. I don't expect to run out any time soon, having been donated fifty boxes of a hundred by a closing-down part-time dealer...just the kind of friend you need.
