Hey guys!

I'm pretty new to the whole gun scene, and I'm having trouble finding ammunition for my new and first rifle (Finnish M39, dated 1970). I live in Montreal, and I've been searching around for 7.62x54R and 7.62x53R, but the only guys that carry it are Dante sports, and only in FMJ, which is pretty much useless considering I want to go shoot at a range and hunt.

So, I'm strongly considering learning how to reload. Are brass/powder/primers/bullets available in the area for this caliber and if so, where? How about the equipment? I know that Dante carries some, but I don't know if they have it for this caliber. And finally, does anyone know where I can get my hands on a reloading manual for an M39? Thanks!

Dante used to have S&B 180 grain SP. I bought a couple of boxes last year.

Reloading is the best option, I would suggest you go to Higginsons in Hawksbury ON, they will set you up with everything you need except brass. Brass can be had from Hirsch Precision (Lapua, very $$$) or Epps (Graf's , around $40/100). Bullets are the same as used in .303 British.

If you get the Lee Anniversary Kit , it includes "Modern Reloading" a pretty good reloading manual.

HTH,

Craig
