So, I have an Alfa Proj in 9mm and I found the moonclips a little tricky to work with. Loading the clip isn't too bad, but removing the spent brass is a little hard, and I don't want to bend or ruin the moonclips since they are about $10 each now! I found tools to buy, but didn't want to pay the price being asked.

I use a spent brass case from a larger calibre (in this instance 38-40, others will work too) and slip it down over the 9mm and slide it out. It provides nice even pressure, but don't tilt the case, just slide it straight out. Works like a charm, and a bigger case gives you a little more to hang on to.
