Does anyone know if FULL moon clips in 45acp will work in Webley MKI's that have had the chamber shaved? (i.e. was .455)
Or will only 1/2 moon clips(in .45acp) work?

Thanks Rodagra picked up both, they work great. Now the only question is their a trick to removing the empty cases from the moon clip without having a demooning tool?

Thanks,
-J

The trick is to develope strong fingers:) or make a demooner out of a short length of half inch pipe. Remove a bit over half the diameter with a cut about 1/4" deep in one end. Works pretty well.

Why are you shooting proof loads in a Webley?????

I haven't seen any evidence that this is the case. However if it is, perhaps JesperA could send me a PM with his e-mail addy and I'll forward the definitive article on Webley proofs with specific comments about handloads for the 45 acp.

Begging! I've hit every single gun store in the GVRD on the hunt for them. They are almost as hard to come by as that barrel bushing wrench for a 1911 that I have been searching for.

I managed to get my paws on 10 full moon clips and 5 half moons.

BTW, the softer load is 180 grain 45 acp

the cost of making up a set of dies to stamp out moon clips, then heat treating them will buy you an awful lot (hundreds at least) of moon clips....I order them from brownells. For target shooting the plastic ones are great and you can moon/de-moon with your fingers, for speed reloading the steel ones are best.
