Moose and deer load.

I currently have 2 loads worked up. One is a 165gr nosler partition moving at 2650fps and the second is a 180gr sierra gameking moving at 2500fps. Which one would you pick for deer and moose hunting? They both shoot tight groups but have a different POI so I cant switch back and forth unless I re-sight all the time ... Thanks for the input in advance.

Partition seeing moose is on the menu.Either weight is fine as I slammed many moose ,bear + deer with a 130gr .270 handload.Harold

Go with the heavier bullet - my two cents worth - it will work just fine if you do your job

im shooting a 30-06 but its a semi carbine.

I have shot the 30-06 in the pump for 30 years+ and only use the 180 grain noslers partitions ...Sight your gun in for them ..that way if your seasons cross over like mine do you dont have to remember what your shotting for which animal ..deer dont mind either

I have shot a number of moose with the 165 Partition, and it dumps them just fine.
It will also work for deer.
I am not fond of Sierra bullets in the game field, with one or two exceptions.
Your semi will be happy with the one bullet, and you will not have any problems if you are careful with your shot.

I would go with the 180. less meat damage on the deer. They are small and the 30-06 is overkill with the lighter bullets.

I use 180 in my 308 for both.

Just go with the 180s for both. No need to switch back and forth.
